Prizes

Great news.. great prizes! As you know Universal Honda became our main sponsor this week and have organised a fantastic prize for the overall winning team. The team and their teacher will get a trip to the Honda F1 Team Operation Centre in the UK where they will tour the facility and learn how an F1 race car is built. Also, there will be a separate prize of milling or IT equipment for the winning team's school.

And that's not it. We'll be announcing further (more modest) prizes for category winners also. Stay tuned..

Race Date

How is the designing coming along, have you made contact with the colleges and arranged a suitable date for milling your designs? We have now decided on the date for the Race it will be 30th May 2006, but the location has still to be finalised! I will hopefully have news on that for you next week.

Testing of Designs and evidence required

In order for you to use the virtual wind tunnel software I am told you would need some training with the software and as time is short this year it will not be possible to fit this in. So for this year only the requirement to test and produce evidence of testing of team designs will be waived.

This also brings me onto the evidence required for CNC and CAM, this will also be waived due to the fact that this year this work is carried out by the colleges, however this may change for the next season of the competition.
