The Irish Computer Society, which operates F1 in Schools in Ireland, uses the popular pix.ie website to support the storage, sharing and organisation of photographs relating to its various activities.
Govannon Racing from Dundalk Grammar School were declared overall winners of the 2010 F1 in Schools Technology Challenge at the National Finals held in Griffith College Dublin on 29 April.

Michael O'Neill Team Manager, Niall Carroll Graphic Designer, Jack Farrell Resource Manager, Steven Butterly Manufacturing Engineer, and Conor Clarke, Manufacturing Engineer fought off fierce competition from 27 finalist teams from all over Ireland to claim the National Title and trophy as well as the opportunity to represent Ireland in the 2011 World Championships next Autumn. The overall winners share the €2,000 in prize money.
Work for the 2010 finals commenced last September. Intense competition followed with 600 students representing 150 second-level schools from 22 counties battling their way through regional finals.
Teams from Cavan, Carlow, Kilkenny, Offaly, Monaghan, Sligo, Galway, Louth Mayo Kildare and Dublin qualified for the National Finals.

Cork Institute of Technology (CIT) host played hosted the Southern Regional Finals of F1 in Schools on 2nd March 2010. Teams from Cork, Tipperary, Kerry, Clare and Limerick competed for a place at the National Finals.
In March 2010 teams from schools all around Ireland will come together to express their creativity, skills and teamworking abilities, share an innovative and exciting educational experience – and compete to have the best-engineered and fastest F1 in Schools car in Ireland.
To cater for the large number of entrants the qualification stage is divided into two events: a Southern Regional Final, to be held in Cork on 2 March, and an Eastern Regional Final, to be held in Dublin on 11-12 March.

The F1 in Schools 2010 National Final will be held on 29 April at Griffith College Dublin.

The Irish Computer Society is delighted to welcome as new patrons of the F1 in Schools Technology Challenge two eminent figures from the world of F1 racing: former F1 team owner and BBC TV pundit, Eddie Jordan, and CEO of Abu Dhabi Yas Marina circuit, Richard Cregan.

Team Koni Kats claim international titleThe Irish Computer Society and its training and certification body, ICS Skills, are very proud to announce that the Irish team Koni Kats from St. David's Secondary School in Greystones, County Wicklow have won the fifth Formula One in Schools Technology Challenge World Championships. The Irish Computer Society has been running the competition since 2006.
Start your engines ...The Minister for Education & Science, Batt O’Keeffe, met today with recent National F1 in Schools Champions, Team Blink from St. Ailbe’s Secondary School, Tipperary and the 2008 National Champions, Team Koni Kats to launch the 2009/2010 season of the F1 in Schools Technology Challenge supported by Irish Computer Society and Discover Science & Engineering.
