F1 in Schools Ireland has agreed a manufacturing partnership for participating teams for the 2020/21 season. A manufacturing service is provided for teams who do not have access to the necessary CNC milling machines or 3D printers. This service will be provided free of charge to all registered teams. 

Each registered team will be entitled to request the following per race event:

1 x CNC Machined Car Body

2 x 3D Printed Front Wing and Support Structure

2 x 3D Printed Rear Wing and Support Structure

4 x 3D Printed Wheels

2 x 3D Printed Wheel Support Structure

Additional 3D printed parts can ordered for an additional fee.

The deadline for submission of car files for the Regional Finals (in .STL or .STEP format) will be in late January 2021. More details will be provided in the Welcome Pack issued to registered teams.

F1 in Schools Ireland issues the following awards at the F1 in Schools National Finals. Each award comes with a certificate of achievement and a trophy for the winning team. In 2021, we introduced a €5500 prize fund for the first time ever!

Grand Awards:

  1. Irish National Champions: Presented with the CJJ Motorsports Perpetual Trophy and opportunity to represent Ireland at the World Finals + €3000 prize

  2. Second Place Award: Opportunity to represent Ireland at the World Finals + €1250 prize

  3. Third Place Award: Opportunity to represent Ireland at the World Finals + €750 prize

  4. International Collaboration Award: Awarded to fourth placed team who are invited to form an international collaboration team at the World Finals

  5. Fastest Car Award: Awarded for the fastest "track time".

  6. Knockout Cup Champions

  7. Facebook Engineer of the Future Award - €500 prize

Star Quality Awards

  1. Best Engineered Car

  2. Best Verbal Presentation

  3. Best Enterprise and Pit Display

  4. Innovation/Judges' Choice Award

  5. Team Identity Award

  6. Best Social Media

  7. Best Newcomer (awarded to the highest scoring team from a "newcomer" school)

  8. Women in Motorsport Award (awarded to the best performing female team or majority female team).

  9. Best Communicator (awarded to an outstanding individual)
